Mission

The mission of Project Welcome Home Troops is to improve the quality of life for combat veterans and their families by providing safe and effective training in stress relief techniques, support of those practices, and by encouraging personal empowerment for their own emotional healing process.

Instructors

Our workshop leaders have extensive experience teaching stress management programs based on yoga, meditation, and yogic breathing to populations in need. For many years our instructors have led stress relief programs for prisoners, corrections officers, police, United Nations troops, at-risk youth, traumatized victims of natural disasters, and for populations dealing with depression, cancer, and HIV.  All instructors have taken additional training to understand the special needs of combat-related stress.

Vision

Witnessing the growing need to provide stress relief to troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, our instructors came together to design a program specifically to address the needs of combat veterans. Joined by health professionals experienced in working with veterans, Project Welcome Home Troops was created. Instructors are currently volunteers devoting their time to bring this program to as many veterans as possible.

Because of the rapidly growing need for help among hundreds of thousands of veterans, plus their families, we plan to employ full time instructors to expand the program. We seek the cooperation and collaboration of the military, VA, and other veteran service and support organizations.
To expand the program with full time instructors funding will be needed. Veterans are not charged for the training.                                                            DONATE
